In the case of databases, much of the information is covered by the database license. The users of databases usually have permission to use information on databases because their employer has paid license fees and agreed to certain restrictions on the use of the information. It is, however, a violation of copyright and licensing agreements to copy an entire database or significant portions of a database, even for personal use.
